Innovative technologies have a huge potential for improving the skills and continuous professional development of students. They can provide interesting, individualised approaches to learning and facilitate the search for information. In this study, we analyse the impact of virtual reality technologies and their implementation on the effectiveness of the learning process in higher education. Particular attention is paid to modern digital platforms, virtual reality (VR) technologies and simulation programmes that allow for the acquisition of knowledge and skills through innovative methods. We analysed the benefits of introducing these technologies into the educational process of higher education institutions. We also considered the challenges associated with the integration of these technologies. We have identified the main advantages of innovative approaches in education, especially interactivity, accessibility and individualised approach.
