Abstract

The study explores the effectiveness of authentic video content in enhancing lexical skills among students of German philology. The research employed a mixed-method approach, combining classroom observations, vocabulary assessments, and student surveys. Results indicate a significant improvement in students’ lexical competence, contextual understanding, and motivation. The findings highlight the pedagogical value of integrating real-life video materials into language instruction and support the use of multimedia tools for vocabulary development in philological education. Authentic videos exposed learners to natural language use, idiomatic expressions, and cultural nuances. This exposure contributed to deeper semantic processing and better retention. The study suggests incorporating such materials systematically into curricula to maximize learning outcomes.
